Regal Reads Blog Tour

Hey everyone! To celebrate the release of Regal Hearts season one in paperback, Livy Jarmusch has launched a super fun blog tour- Regal Reads! There are so many fun posts she has planned, so make sure you keep up with the days of the tour on Livy’s social media.

Regal Hearts was first released on kindle by “episodes” about 25 pages each. You can grab the whole first season now (lucky you- the waiting was awful). It’s a super fun story line for teen girls, with lovable and relatable characters, my favorites of which are Arden, Emma, and Eleanor (because you could possibly pick just one?? If you can, you are cramazing!)

In my little corner of the internet today, I’ll be doing a character to character interview with Livy. My character, Will Austin, will interview my very favorite character from Livy’s Regal Hearts, Arden Laverne.

So, without further a-do, here is their fun little interview.

Will: Hey, Arden! So cool to be able to interview you- but, just because you’re a cool guy. I’m…not really a fan of the music. No offense, bro. So, my first question for you is, why are you so into music? What draws you to it?

Arden: Hey man! Thanks for having me! And um…ouch, you’re killing me here! Haha, just kidding, no it’s all cool, Acid Rain isn’t for everyone. A little bit too much epicness for some people to handle? Kidding. 😉 Anyway, yeah the music! I don’t know what it is. I mean, I’ve been obsessed with music for as long as I can remember, even just a little tike, banging on drums and making as much noise as humanly possible…music has always fascinated me. I guess I love that it can express so many different emotions and feelings, like depending on your mood or whatever, there’s always music to match it.

Will: That’s neat, Arden! I’ve got the voice of a toad, but I do enjoy listening to music. Alright, second question. When you’re not busy with creating music videos or writing songs or doing interviews, how do you like to spend your time?

Arden: I’ve been pretty slammed lately with label stuff, performances, and school, but if I actually get the liberty of free time, I donno, I usually spend it hanging with the other guys in the band, playing video games, writing music, eating, or talking about who’s most likely to survive the Zombie Apocalypse.

Will: Eating. Yes. Especially if it’s seafood. Who is your favorite artist? Is there an artist your aspire to be like?

Arden: Oh, hard question! I have a lot of music and artists I enjoy, so it’s hard to pick just one. TobyMac is pretty cool. Even though our style isn’t exactly the same, he seems like a really legit guy.

Will: TobyMac is awesome! His music is great. So, how is your life as a singer like or unlike what you expected it to be?

Arden: Well, initially, I wanted to be a solo-artist. So ending up in a band with two other guys was definitely a bit of a curve ball for me! But I honestly love it. Having two werido’s to hang out with all the time (and trust me, they’re dorks) makes everything ten times more fun. Being on the road by yourself, I donno, I think that could get lonely, so it’s fun having a team to do everything with.

Will: What’s your favorite snack?

Arden: Gummy worms and goldfish.

Will: Goldfish? Alright, I like fish, but my mom burnt me out on those as a kid… Next question. How has growing up without your dad affected your life?

Arden: I try not to think about it too much. I mean, being raised by a single parent is pretty normal these days, and because I’ve grown up the way I have, it’s almost more normal for him not to be here, then it is for him to be here, you know? Like, if I think about it too much, the concept seems super strange for me. My Mom and I are totally happy, and yeah, it would be cool to have another man around to talk and play catch and do all that dude stuff, but from what I know about him, he doesn’t really seem like the kind of person you’d want around anyway.

Will: I feel you…it’s easier not to think about it. My dad’s in the military, so… What’s your favorite Bible verse?

Arden: Jeremiah 29:11, all the way!

Will: If you were shrunk to the size of a pencil and put in a blender, how would you get out?

Arden: Oh, easy. I’d rip out my falsetto voice and hit a note so high, it shatters the glass blender, and shaboom, I’m free!

Will: Brilliant! And lastly…I need to know how you do it. I mean, you told me you shoved an ice cream cone in Emma’s face. All I know is, if I did that to Daisy, I wouldn’t be here right now, having this conversation. So…how exactly do you maintain such a friendship?

Arden: Hahaha! So, Emma is a rare case. I don’t think there are very many people walking around on this planet like her, and it’s true, you can’t shove ice-cream in the face of most girls and not expect something really ugly to go down. But I guess that’s the true test of friendship, right? Freezing cold ice-cream smashed into your nose? Haha! For those who are reading this and have no idea who Emma is, she’s my managers daughter, and she’s usually got her head stuffed behind a book as she’s lost in some wacko fantasy world, so I consider it my own personal responsibility to yank her into reality every once in awhile. Even if it’s with freezing cold ice-cream. You know, just use whatever works, haha! No, in all seriousness tho, I have literately no idea why she puts up with me. I can be a bit of a spazz, and I probably severely drain her hipster-introverted-emotional-energy-reserves, but she’s great. Super crabby at times, but great!

Will: She certainly sounds like one of a kind! Thanks for letting me interview you, Arden.

You should definitely go get Regal Hearts! You’ll be hooked!

  1. OH MY GOSH I LOVED THIS SO MUCH. I have a feeling that if these two met in a story, they would be best buddies xD (except for the whole music thing….)

I am totally convinced now: I MUST read Regal Hearts.

    Fantastic post, Riley!
